Seizing the Chance - By John Hawkesby
On a trip to Auckland in August, Carol and I had the pleasure of being hosted by John and Joyce Hawkesby at their lovely home on Waiheke Island and hand delivering a couple of bottles of Serendipity to see what John thought. I think he was suitably impressed by the article he wrote in the Weekend Herald 29 September 2012.
John makes a mean cup of coffee and an equally mean Malbec from the world's smallest vineyard which we enjoyed a stroll around. Carol and I also got a tour around John's impressive wine cellar and came home with a bottle of the Hawkesby Coastal Malbec which we are still waiting for an opportune moment to open. Let you know how we get on.
