Serendipity Central Otago Pinot Gris 2012

2012 Vintage

Cromwell had wet conditions prior to Christmas with extreme heat through January. It was dry for the most part after
that interspersed with short rain events happening at times where the moisture posed little threat. In early autumn
temperatures were cooler and there was more rainfall than normal. A fantastic Indian summer followed for harvest which
was two weeks later than normal due to cooler overall temperatures which brought a focused flavour profile. 2012 was
a normal yielding year.

Tasting Notes

A vibrant, aromatic wine that is fruit driven with zesty, citrus notes opening up to stone and pip fruit with spicy, creamy
aromas and textures and a pleasing lengthy finish. It is made to enjoy now as an aperitif or with antipasto platters, white
meat or fish and is especially well suited to Asian cuisine. Equally the textural element of the wine will enhance beautifully
with age and reward cellaring.

Serendipity Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

2011 Vintage

The first part of the vintage was hot and dry. The settled weather during flowering led to 100% of the inflorescences
pollinating which resulted in big, dense, compact and tight bunches culminating in lighter wines in general for the season.
This gave way to cooler and overcast days with intermittent rain until March, when the weather settled again for harvest.
Vines were harvested under typical stunning clear blue Central Otago skies with cool evenings.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful lifted aromatics invite you into the glass. This wine will charm you with its rich, spicy fruit flavours and aromas
and whiffs of charred cedar. It has elegant tannins and texture with a nice acid backbone which shows through in its
red cherry stone flavours. Will have good aging potential and stand up to a lot of foods by sitting with them rather than
overshadowing them. Is especially good with wild game and duck dishes.

10% was whole bunch fermented. It went through 100% malolactic fermentation and was racked and settled in February
2012 with a light fining before bottling in March.
